THE STORY BEHIND JVE

Our association is the fruit of an idea conceived by three young French students, Eve MAURICE, Elodie AUBERT et Raphaël GONZALES, who were studying in Nyon, Switzerland (between Geneva and Lausanne) at the school of engineering ( l'Ecole d'Ingénieurs de Changins) which trains Oenologists and Viticultural Engineers .

They were eager to learn about the wines of the world, and their studies allowed them to discover the wines of Switzerland, and also those of Spain, Portugal and Italy. During these viticultural travels, they established solid contacts with young wine-growers in these countries.

Shortly after starting their individual professional activities, they decided to create an association to unite the wine-growers that they meet in their travels. Thus, in June 2009,  the Young European Winegrowers Association was founded.

Today JVE includes a number of young wine-growers who have created or taken over vineyards, and together they

form a new generation that make a large range of high-quality wines.

These young wine-growers love their vineyards, and respect their “terroirs”, or local soil, each unique in its own way. They know that their future lies in the production of healthful, natural products.

The young wine-growers offer their wines for tasting and sale, and also share information concerning the production and elaboration of  their wines. Their mutual experience allows them to help each other.

Each member can organize events for professionals or for the public at large. It gives them all the opportunity to get together regularly to propose their new wines to clients.

In 2013, the association received the Artvinum award from the Land of Baden Württemberg for its pan-European action.
